Re: Edwina
Edwina has moved house. She hasn't been coming out much lately and spent an awful lot of time sleeping. She's moved from her bin cage to a Hamster Haven where she can get an allround view of her surroundings. A nosy and sociable dwarf like Edwina may well prefer a barred cage, i hope so anyway.
I used a good part of her old substrate and set the cage up similar to her old lay out.
She makes little excited squeaks when she harvests her favourite millet, something i wasn't able to hear before.
It's been a busy few days with three hamster house moves.

Wow - another amazing set up! You have been busy - and the set up is so lush and creative! I do envy people who get cages looking like that - you, SKB and Cypher seem to have this knack!
Is that the Hamster Heaven you mentioned finding recently?

Thank you! I like your cage set ups too and without your ideas Rory wouldn't have a sputnik.
No, the aforementioned Hamster Haven was the one i got for free from Gumtree and Rory lives in it.
This one is also from Gumtree but brand new because seller's son changed his mind about getting a hamster. Got it for £40 so well chuffed about it.
Didn't want the shelves etc because i like a cage empty to do my own thing with it.
Ozzy's is also a Gumtree find and bought for £15. The purple version was a plus to go with his purple flying saucer which he likes running on.

Re: Edwina
What a brill9ant set up for her. My elderly syrian fluffer, Tarak has just moved into a hamster heaven. Great cage. Narrow bars and a big front door.
His cork lined wooden wheel fits in, just!

Re: Edwina
That's Rory's Hamster Haven. I had planned to lead a rat tube up to the sputnik like you did but the cage is too low for that. He can climb into the sputnik though, i've watched him doing it and he's got quite a bit of growing to do yet.
See how he gets on as he gets bigger and if need be, i'll look out for a Savic Plaza. He free roams though and the little monkey does enough climbing then.
I had to add the mats to the back wall to protect our biker leathers from nibbling hamster teeth.

Thank you. I love this cage with its big front door. Edwina seems to like it too and has even more fun chucking the sand out. She's turning into a little porker though but is currently free roaming around the room.
Come on girl, get some exercise instead of sniffing around and looking for dropped seeds from her room mates cages.
