Meet Stoffie - what colour is he?
Hello everybody!
I have a new baby hammie! Here are 2 pictures of Stoffie. I think he must be a hybrid; I don't think we have many pure species of hamster here in South Africa. What is his colour called?
Thank you so much!
Edit: I don't know why half of the one photo is slightly red, it's not like that in real life and must have happened with the uploading process. Please excuse it.

Reason: Explaining slightly red photo effect

He looks very sweet. Yes he should be a hybrid but looks to have sapphire winter white colouring.

What beautiful colouring. Like the look of his set up too. I do love a natural theme.

Thank you mangoandmimi! Does that mean he has quite a bit of winter white genes in him?
And thank you to everyone else for your compliments! I will tell him, I'm sure he'll be happy to hear it.

Re: Meet Stoffie - what colour is he?
I suppose so, I mean I’d call him a WW over a hybrid since that’s what he resembles. But still treat him like you would a hybrid - careful diet etc.

He's so cute! Congrats on your hammy
If you got him from the petshop it's a hybrid. To me he looks more like a Campells than a WW (judging from the face, I find that WW often have a bit "rounder" or softer look, while CB look a bit "pointyer" ), but he's probably a mix of both His looks a bit like my new campbells, her coloring is Opal and looks like that

Re: Meet Stoffie - what colour is he?
I don’t know about pointier but pure winter whites tend to have more of a ‘Roman nose’ and campbells more flat. Regardless I’d still say winter white colouring, the prominent side arches in particular is a WW trait as well as the general colouring, although sapphires and opals do look similar.

Thank you for the insight mangoandmimi! Here is a better picture of his side profile and his nose shape.
