Hey everyone,

Thanks for my well wishes, I am better than I was the other day, but still got a few more days before fully back to recovery.

Bonnie's new wheel arrived today. I've put it on her shelf now and put some treats in there for her to find. Is the wheel OK on the shelf, or should I move it down to floor level? Shelf isn't very high, just enough to keep the water bottle out of woodshaving height.

Have also been putting some tissues with my own scent on them over the past couple of days and she's dragged them into her house lol. She poked her head out of her house yesterday, but not really seen her since lol. She's definitely eating/drinking well though.

Hi

Bonnie is doing well. She still makes a dash for it whenever I open the door and put my hand in the tank, but now takes the treat I leave her shortly after I close the door.

Surprisingly, I've just seen her out and about in her tank, and early yesterday morning as well. I think she was just getting something to eat/drink. But it was lovely to see her during daylight hours.

She's got a vet health check on Thursday and I am bit worried how to get Bonnie out of her tank and into her carrier to transport her there and back. Any ideas as to how to capture a tiny, furry bullet? Lol

I coaxed Hesper into a tub with sunflower seeds and mealworms to weigh her. They never fail with her. She just got straight in and I lifted it out.

I find they will usually walk into a small cardboard tube (one hand over the end!) or box, a few seeds or a mealworm or two will probably help!

Aww, Bonnie is such a darling ham! She is so cute, and I just had to laugh that you were going into the pet store just to buy some locusts, lol. I think that we have all been there going in for something and coming out with a new, little friend and a whole bunch more, too. Bonnie is so lucky to have been chosen by you. I love her photos, especially the first one where her huge, gorgeous eyes are peering out from the wood shavings. I'm glad that she is coming out from the wood shaving more now, and she enjoyed her delicious pea. I'm sure she will gain more confidence soon enough. As other members said, I would use a tub or tube with a treat inside to entice her into it so she will be much easier to carry into her carrier cage. Best of luck with her vet visit on Thursday.

Hi Buttercuplols, Cypher and Dreamtree1234.

I was planning on using a box or tube. I've now decided on a box with some sunflower seeds and possibly a mealworm (although she's never had one of these yet - so could be interesting to see what her reaction to these are lol).

Dreamtree1234 - She is such a quirky little one, so much different to my past Syrians lol. Her eyes and markings are just gorgeous (but then I am bias lol). Definitely funny to watch the woodshavings moving around lol.

I will update when she's had her vet visit on Thursday.

Lol, I truly enjoy watching the wood shavings quake as as a sweet, little hammy scurries underneath in their tunnels. Good luck with Bonnie's vet visit tomorrow.

Hello,

Getting Bonnie into the carrier was easy enough - she just jumped straight in lol.

I don't think she intended to jump in as I was trying to entice her into a box first, but she took a flying leap almost out of the tank and ended up in there lol.

Vet appointment went very well. She loved Bonnie's markings and how lively she was.

Got Bonnie (and a new addition) back home and she soon settled down in her house quite quickly after having a verbal go at me lol. Going to give her a day or two before properly starting on the taming process (or as far as she will let me).

lol! Had to laugh at that very fortunate flying leap bless her! Glad all went well at the vet & she wasn't too bothered by it all.

New addition....? I want to know
