Meet Oliver

Thank you. I agree about he upset due to the cage change. He has his nest under a bendy bridge that is under the shelf. I may add another shelf on the other side. I have added a Trixie long bendy bridge as another shelf/ ramp from the shelf. It gives access to one of the Barney cage doors, so may be a way of letting him come out into the playpen/ my hand or a transport box etc.

I'm sure that all the talking will help Oliver gain confidence over time. He is just trying to build up the anticipation and come out on his own time.

He did stay out a little bit the other night. So the talking must be working. Or he is more interested in the food/treats.

Oliver had a little explore of his cage and a run on his wheel last night at 10pm. It’s unusual, as he doesn’t come out until I got to bed and it’s totally dark.

I hope he is just going through a phase, like Willow did.

His Christmas hanging chew toys and tubes have been added to his cage.

Oliver is maybe feeling a little more comfortable around you now and is happy to be out and about in his cage while you are still around

I hope he is. I haven’t been able to do any kind of taming for a while.

It sounds like he is more adventuresome now. I'm so happy for the two of you. I'm sure he will be enjoying his new chew toys a lot, too.

He is getting better at coming out to explore/play in his cage. Which is nice. I think the change of cage set things back, but we will keep going steady and see.

Oliver is taking food from me again. He also nearly came out of the cage door onto my hand. All the talking to him (during the early hours of the morning, in the dark) is working.
