Re: Cookie's Thread
Good to hear she's enjoying her new cage It looks nice for her & she looks so sweet in that last photo!
Have you tried her with deeper substrate? She might enjoy digging & building burrows if it was deeper.

Re: Cookie's Thread
Since this cage is taller than her previous one I really wanted to give her a nice big layer of bedding. Sadly I ran out so I tried to put at least 10 cm of bedding in one part of her cage.

Re: Cookie's Thread
Hope she is enjoying the new cage. It looks good. You may find you want to add new things. I know I did.
You may also need/want to adjust the layout to suit Cookie once she is settled.

Re: Cookie's Thread
Cookie is so adorable and has such beautiful coloring. I love her new cage setup; she looks like she is thoroughly enjoying it. I definitely look forward to hearing more about your sweetie and seeing more pics whenever you have a chance.
BTW, Eros says "hi!" and gives a high-four!!!

Re: Cookie's Thread
I have a short story that happened to me and I want to share it, so here it is:
Recently I decided it was time to spot clean Cookies cage. She burrows and sleeps in one part of her cage that doesn't have a lot of bedding so I added some to even it out with the rest of her cage. She really enjoyes it. Cookie wakes up at around 11 pm but this time she didn't and I waited and waited but she didin't come out. I got really worried and I just wanted check on her in her nest. To my surprise she wasn't there and she never changes the place where she sleeps and I started to gently go through bedding but I couldn't find her. I slowly started to take out the bedding from the cage(it took awhile) and I still couldn't find her. After I put everything how it was before and started to search in other part of her cage and I lifted her hay house and underneath was a pile of hay so I gently removed it and there she was. She's had that house in her cage for a month and never slept in it so it was the last place I thought she could be.
Cookie is ok but when that happened million things went through my mind cause she never does that. When I saw her I was so happy and realized how much I love her.
I know this isn't a really exiting story and sorry this post is so long.

Re: Cookie's Thread
I think it's a sweet, lovable story, and I enjoyed hearing about it. These moments are special so I'm glad that you shared it with us. It's funny how when we think we know exactly what our hammies will do, they just change things on us to keep us on our toes, lol. I'm sorry that you were worried, but I'm relieved and happy that you found her all cozy in her hay house. What a loving bond you have for your precious Cookie; I'm sure she got plenty of cuddles from you after that.

Re: Cookie's Thread
It does give you a scare when they do something out of character. It's such a relief when you find them.
I had times when I thought Willow had escaped, only for her to come out of an under ground nest somewhere.
