Meet Willow
I would like to introduce Willow. I got her this morning and set her up in my unoccupied fish tank. I may change her into the Barney cage I bought at some point.
She was the last of her litter. The lady scooped her up with the box, but then held her. She was calm whilst being held.
I nearly got the black adoption ham, but he is unpredictable with odd bites here and there. So as I haven't had a hamster for along time. I chose the calmer one.
I hope he gets a good home to.
I fed her a mealworm once we got home and just now she had a small piece of chicken and cabbage.
She didn't seem to know how to use a water bowl, so I have fixed a water bottle.
She now has sand in the jar instead of shavings.

Re: Meet Willow
Lovely colouring and pretty eyes, too. I do love red eyed hamsters. She sounds very gentle and confident, so I am sure you will make fast progress with her.

Re: Meet Willow
She is confident. She climbed onto the back of my hand many times last night and this morning.
She is really hyper and barely stays still. If she is nervous she takes her chosen piece of food into her box and eats in there.
She has discovered the joy of digging. First in her sand jar and overnight/early morning in the substrate.
After a busy night she moved nest from under the shredded paper, slightly dug into the substrate to a proper burrow/mound of substrate under her box.
