They did mention a cyst, but also mentioned tumours, possibly cancer. So an anxious wait until I hear from them.

I nearly put Willow in a storage box instead of her tank. The thought behind this was to eliminate climbing and encourage her to rest, but didn’t as I didn’t want to stress her.

I was also wondering about removing her platform or making it so she can’t climb up onto the platform.

If she burrows a lot, making it hard to get her to take the medicine. I may temporarily give her less substrate.

I will use porridge to.

It must be an anxious time waiting to know what the test will find but I do hope it's something that can be treated & Willow will be ok.
You might find that she gets to expect the baby food with the meds if you can give it a regular time & you won't have to try to get her out of her burrows, I've had hams waiting for meds after the first dose or two as they just think it's a yummy treat! Fingers crossed it's easy for both of you without having to remove substrate or make other changes.
If you think she might hurt herself trying to climb or if it's just too much of a struggle when she tries then it might be a good idea to remove the platform but if she seems to be managing ok than I would keep any changes to a minimum to avoid stress.

It is a worrying time. I have looked to see if she could have hurt herself on anything in her tank. At the moment meds are being taken ok. Food and water are no longer on the platform. This way Willow doesn’t have to go onto the platform.

Her routine is almost normal. Which I feel is a good thing.

If the meds work. When would I start to see any improvement?

The results are not showing anything major. They are a bit unconclusive. Unfortunately the lump doesn’t seem to be getting smaller. A lot of what the vet said was too technical to understand.

I was going to take Willow back so she could be seen by the same vet. This way the vet could see if there has been any change. Unfortunately the vet is away for two weeks now.

I will continue with the baytril and see how she is. If she gets worse I will take her back and see a different vet.

Surgery may still be an option. I will take her back in two weeks, unless it gets worse.

I'm sorry that Willow's lump hasn't reduced in size and your usual vet is away for two weeks. If you do not completely understand all of the technical findings of the tests, could you possibly ask someone at the vet's office to explain it further to you in layman's terms? I would be surprised if the vets there haven't been asked to do the same numerous times before. That way, you will be able to better know what all your options are and how to help Willow best. Best of luck and please know that I will be keeping you and Willow in my thoughts and prayers. I will be hoping that Willow recovers completely and soon.

I am sorry that Willow isn't showing any signs of improvement, I would agree with dreamtree about asking the vets to explain things in more simple terms, most vet's are happy to make things understandable so you can make the most informed choice about what to do, it doesn't help that the vet you've seen previously is away but I hope Willow will be ok & you can get the help you may need.

What a difficult time CMB. I am sorry Willow is not improving. Hope you can get to see the vet of your choice and get a better understanding of what is going on.

Thank you all. I would have liked a more definite answer/diagnosis. It would make things so much easier.

I am trying to watch how Willow is moving etc to help with making the right decision.

Just been catching up with Willow's thread and I was so sorry to hear that she has a lump! It can be a worrying time when you find something unusual or concerning on them. I hope you are able to find out for definite what it is - maybe try calling the vets and asking for them to check her records to see what was said.

I have my finger crossed that it isn't anything serious and I hope Willow will be ok!
