Default diabetes in hamsters

ive heard that hybrid hamsters are prone to diabetes if your hamster ends up with this condition what is the care like?

Managing diabetes can be difficult but many do manage to live for some time with the condition, there isn't a simple treatment it's more a case of managing diet & treating according to the levels of glucose & ketones in the urine which has to be tested regularly.
