Willow went back to the vet today and unfortunately the lump is bigger. Next Thursday she will have surgery. I have to take her to the vet at 9am. There are other surgeries planned. I should be called later in the day to take her home, if the surgery goes ok. I have been informed of the risk of anneasthetic in hamsters, but the vet operating on Willow has done lots of small pet operations.

I have an estimate of the cost and a breakdown of the estimate. It could be more and it could be less depending on how it goes (£256.12). I am not sure if this is expensive compared to other vets, as I have never had to take a hamster to a vet before.

Sorry to hear that Willow needs surgery. Fingers crossed that it all goes well. A week is hard to wait. For me- costs look reasonable compared to my experiences.

Sorry to hear that the lump has got bigger & Willow will need surgery. I hope all goes well next week & she'll recover well.
I don't have any experience of hams needing surgery but the cost sounds about what i would expect.

So sorry to hear Willow's been going through a tough time and that you haven't gotten the answers you want.
I'm keeping my fingers crossed for your little girl and sending both of you big hugs xxx

Just been catching up on Willow's thread CMB and I'm very sorry to hear that she has a lump and so far the vet hasn't been able to confirm what it is.

I'm thinking her surgery must be today so I'm keeping my fingers crossed that everything goes well with it.

Willow went to the rainbow bridge. Heart broken. Take my love to the bridge Willow. I’m going to miss you.

The lump had been successfully removed. It was really big. It was a cyst, but they are not sure what caused it. They were just finishing the external stitches when she stopped breathing. They tried to massage her heart, but it didn’t work.

The vet was really upset. I’m going to take a card and gift to thank her for trying, as other vets I have been to would have not even tried.

I am so very sorry CMB, it's so sad that Willow has gone so soon, you did your best for her as did the vet.
I'm sure she will be very sadly missed but forever in your heart.

Run free & play well at the bridge Willow.
