I’m keeping a close eye on Willow (as best as I can, cause I don’t see much of her) as this morning she was awake until about 9am. She is normally asleep as soon as it gets light. She seem unable to settle. Then laid down on top of the substrate. I thought she was dying. She was looking for a place to sleep for ages, before going under a pile of Fitch.

I hope she is ok.

Oh, no, CMB! I hope and pray that she is doing alright, too. Hopefully, she will be able to get a good rest now and be back to her normal self again after she wakes. I'll be keeping my fingers crossed. Please give us updates when you have a chance. Hugs to you, CMB.

Hope she's ok & that something has just unsettled her rather than it being a sign of any illness, fingers crossed for little Willow.

Hope she is doing ok. Maybe it's now it's getting a bit colder - or warmer if the heating is on?

She has been about this evening and seemed ok. I wonder if she sensed the surprise arrival of two new hamsters.

My sister got me two adoption hamsters today as my Christmas present.

An 8 week old Russian, who looks just like Willow. He is tiny and escaped from the cage in p@h soon after arriving and had an adventure around the shop for awhile, so had to be adopted rather than sold. I think he is a boy. He was called Jamie, but I’m going to choose a new name. He used to screech, but had settled down before coming home. He has enjoyed a sand bath and claimed Willows wheel from the playpen, marking it with scent. Slightly skittish of sudden movement, but curious to sniff me.

New threads will be coming soon.

The second hamster is a robo. I need to find out more about it. All I know is it was fighting, so was separated to live on it’s own. It was called Honey, but I am again choosing a new name. I have been told it’s a boy, but I will have to keep checking. Slightly more nervous, but now running happily on his wheel and has also came off his wheel to sniff me.

It’s hard to tell, as she is quite reclusive. The two newbies are running like lots. They are good at using their wheels, no falling out or flipping over.

I do hope that Willow is alright. I'm glad that she has been out and about this evening and seems fine. Maybe it is just that she senses that she is no longer the only ham in the house and needs to get accustomed to the changes.

CMB, congrats on your two new hammies. It was really sweet of your sister to get them for you for early Christmas gifts. I am so excited for you and am looking forward to meeting your two new additions to your hamily. I also will be excited to hear what you decided to name them.

Congrats on the newbies!
It could well be that Willow is taking a while to get used to the scent & sounds of two new hamsters, hopefully that's all it is & she'll soon settle again.

Do hope all will be well with Willow. Hopefully it is just the new arrivals and that will pass. Congrats on the additions to your hamily. Great gift!
