I left a bit veg in his bowl last night, I was relieved to see it was still in his bowl but disappointed that he'd only had the smallest of nibbles lol.

What did you give him? Broccoli and peas are Mushu's favourites. Any other veg he tends to turn his nose up after a bite or two.

A green bean, everyone else seemed to enjoy it apart from Artie who seems to think veg is poison, he only likes kale, spinach and brussel sprout (and even then he doesn't eat much of them) lol

Some are a bit funny with veg & take a while to get used to them, Mickle used to have boxing matches with her broccoli before she realised she could eat it

Ah, green beans are on Mushu’s (legnthy!) dislike list. I have yet to meet a ham who doesn’t adore broccoli, perhaps you could give him some of that?

Nice to see Max settling in. He looks very sweet and gentle. It sounds like he is still settling in really and may get more confident as time goes on. Charlie was always quite reclusive, but he was a different hamster when out of the cage. I used to just put his veg in his sputnik to make him go half way across the cage to get it lol. And get some exercise. He got to expect it there and always went there first to look for it. A sputnik might be a bit of a problem with his leg possibly? But just an extra dish or something somewhere other than the food dish, so he gets to know it's his veg place. They all have their preferences. I try and give a different veg each day - raw carrot, or broccoli or baby spinach or cucumber. All used to go. Cucumber was favourite I think.

I think he sounds incredibly sweet and a bit shy.

Yes AP broccoli is a favourite here too (apart from Artie of course). It's on my shopping list for tomorrow

Thanks Serendipity, he does have a sputnik but I'd slightly submerged it so he could just climb in, he's such a tunneler though that you can only see the very top bit now lol. I've got a little flat dish (it's acutally a thing to sit your tea bags on!) I used for his veg last night so that at least he doesn't need to climb in to it or out of it. I'm sure he'd probably manage fine but I just worry lol.

Harvey loves broccoli, especially the tenderstem version and asparagus also. Try babycorn on Max.

BP, I am just catching up on your adorable Max. He is so, SOOOOO... cute!!! I love his gorgeous coloring and cutesy expressions. I am so glad that you have each other. It is so great that he is managing quite nicely with only three legs. He sure is blessed to have such a loving mum to pamper him with all of the love in the world. What a wonderful hamily you have. I love each and every one of your furballs, and I think it is quite humorous that they all have their own active moments during the day/night. It must make things extra interesting in your home.

Boris considering veggies to be his poison also made me laugh. He sure is a silly, little dude with so much character!
