Minnie's Thread
Hey all. I went to Pets at Home yesterday to see if there were any hamsters in the adoption section as I have an empty cage in my bedroom which I'd much rather put to use. When I got there I saw that there were three female Russian hybrids for adoption which was great because my set up would be perfect for one. I just knew I'd be taking one home, they were all adorable!
There was Madge, Minnie and Rolo. They were all from the shop but had been separated due to fighting. The shop assistant told me a little about them all. After considering everything about their personalities I decided to adopt Minnie.
She is 12 weeks old and was there because she had gotten into a fight and injured her nose which has now healed up nicely. She's still very skittish as she hasn't been handled but I'm hoping she'll be ok after taming. Her enclosure at the pet shop was tiny so I hope she enjoys her new Zoozone one. When I first put her in it she ran in her wheel for hours and hours. She's a little ball of energy and it looks like I'll have my hands full with her! I'll try and put up pictures soon after she's settled in. She is so cute and I adore her markings

Re: Minnie's Thread
I've started the taming process with Minnie and it's going ok so far. She's still very nervous which is understandable after her start in life, being attacked and not having any human contact.
She sometimes takes treats from between my fingers and earlier today she took some seeds from the palm of my hand which I was pleasantly surprised by! She's getting braver.
She also loves her wheel. I don't think I've ever had a hamster that has loved theirs as much as Minnie does. She's on it from the moment she gets up to the moment she goes back to bed
I haven't managed to get good pictures of her so for now I'll let you all see her markings which I love! I believe the correct term for her colouring would be normal mottled? Correct me if I'm wrong.
Hopefully I'll get better pictures soon and I'll keep you all updated on how she's getting on

Re: Minnie's Thread
Glad to hear you're making some progress with her! She's a very beautiful little ham, I absolutely love her markings. I had a hamster who also LOVED their wheel! She loved it so much she decided it'd be fun to chew straight through it causing it to break haha! Hope all continues going well with little Minnie, keep us updated
