Re: Jaska
Thank you Cypher, Hamsterita, Lizzy and SKB
I hope he will relax too as he gets older, I think it's the fact that he's so unpredictable. One minute he's sauntering around in his cage like you're not there and the next time he's darting about just because you look at him. I won't give up though, he's too special for that, the fact that he seems calm sometimes suggests to me that he has it in him (either that or he's putting on a good show!).
I get what you're saying Hamsterita. I don't even want him to be calm for my benefit, more his own. I worry what would happen if I ever have to take him to the vets when he's so skittish.

Re: Jaska
Don’t worry. I’m sure Jaska is very happy, even if he is a little nervous. I doubt anyone could provide him with a more loving home. Hopefully he won’t ever need to go to the vets but if he does a small animal specialist should know what to do. Deep down, that little fluff ball loves you

Re: Jaska
BP, I am sad that Jaska is still skittish but, as others have said, I think that over time he will most likely become more confident. Regardless though, you are a truly AMAZING hammy mum and Jaska knows how much you love him and want the very best for him always. He loves you, too, I am sure!

Re: Jaska
Jaska and the blueberry
I can’t believe I’ve not updated Jaska’s thread for so long but the there’s not much new to tell as far as Jaska goes. He’s still my little shy guy and is happiest having as little as possible to do with us. We don’t see him everyday but I hear him rustling around at the bottom of the cage and he’s out and about after we go to bed because his wheel has moved and his veg has been carried in to his tissue box so he can eat it in privacy, though who he thinks is watching him in the dark is a mystery to me It seems that if I want to get any pictures of him I need to rush to the kitchen to get something interesting and rush back, hoping he's not disappeared and that he actually wants to check out what I've got. In this case a blueberry
I do have a few pics to share of the mysterious Jaska, I don't have many unfortunately and I'm sure some are on instagram already.

Re: Jaska
Look at him being all brave with his little paws on your hand! He really does look tiny with that blueberry - not that that seems to have stopped him from digging in it's a pity he doesn't come out more, but he is such a cutie when he does.
