Re: Boris & Pasha
Wonderful photoshoots of both Boris and Pasha - looks like they are both very scarily cute for Halloween! Love the 1st and 5th photos of Pasha he looks so sweet alongside the ghost! Looks like Boris had lots of fun in his photoshoot - does appear that he had a good explore and sniff of the Pumpkins - that 4th photo is too cute! - Boris is posed to perfectly and he is so handsome!
Hope Boris, Pasha along with, Jaska, Artie, Sparky, Snappy and yourself have had a scarily cute Halloween.

Re: Boris & Pasha
Aww, fabulous pics BP, so lovely to see Pasha and I got the giggles when Pasha decided he'd had enough.
Boris always a delight and so photogenic. Always willing to pose.
Love these 2.

Re: Boris & Pasha
Pasha update
I think I mentioned on Pasha's halloween photos that he seemed to be ageing (weight loss, a pink lump above his eye, a bit quieter but still going about his hamster business and seemed fine in himself). Over the last week he's been deteriorating. He wasn't eating his food and was refusing his favourite treats. I've been giving him crushed food, soaked food, baby food and although he was eating some, he wasn't eating much but he was still eating his veg. We thought it was maybe an issue with his teeth so we got an appointment at our vet for this Friday (that was the first one we could get with the vet that is good with small animals).
However over the weekend he seemed to decline further and the red spot seemed to be troubling him and he wasn't opening that eye properly. We managed to get a vet appointment at the specials rabbits and exotics vet practise that is part of the vet school in Edinburgh. The vet we seen was excellent, very compassionate and knowledgable. I was so relieved. She had a good look at him and examined him, and believes there is a problem with his kidneys. He was also dehydrated despite eating a big chunk of cucumber and green beans in the car on the way there!
He had an ultrasound and behaved very well, they even let him take his green bean with him. They are 90% sure it is his kidney but it could be an enlarged gut or a distended bowel. He is staying in their hospital tonight and they are going to repeat the ultrasound tomorrow. They started him on antibiotics and painkillers. The vet student called me a little while ago to say he took his medicine well and the special food (I think it's maybe some sort of critical care) from a syringe without a problem. I was sad to leave him there but he will be monitored round the clock so it's a huge comfort to know that he is in good hands.
They are going to phone us tomorrow with an update.
This is a picture of Pasha from June this year, looking immaculate, playing tug of war with my finger. After my sad update I wanted to leave a happy picture of my King Floof.

Re: Boris & Pasha
BP, I am so very sorry about Pasha but thank goodness you have such expertise close at hand. It's good that he is having round the clock care and taking his meds ok.
I hope you have better news tomorrow. Pasha is such a lovely chap and I love the photo you posted of him. Fingers crossed.

Re: Boris & Pasha
I’m really sad to hear that about Pasha, but I’m glad the vet was nice and serious about treating a hamster. He’s such a little cartoon character on that photo, I hope he’s gonna be okay and will stay with you for many more photos!

Re: Boris & Pasha
Oh, no! I am terribly sorry that Pasha isn't doing well and will be praying that he has a full and complete recovery. I will also keep my fingers crossed that it isn't his kidneys. I'm glad that you have an experienced, caring, and compassionate vet to help and they are monitoring him over night, too. Pasha is such a darling, amusing, and loving ham and that photo showed his charming, playful nature perfectly. I hope that tomorrow's update with the vet will be wonderful news. Please give your sweetie an extra cuddles from me and let him know that my furry girls and I will be wishing him good health. Hugs to you, BP. Please know that we are always here for you.

Re: Boris & Pasha
That's a lovely photo of your adorable King floof BP, such a handsome little man & I'm sure he always will be in his own way.
Even though we've spoken about Pasha's problems & trip to the vet I wanted to add my well wishes here, I really hope the news is positive this morning & that sweet Pasha will have some time with you yet.
Hugs to you & Hamdad.
