We chose Russian names because they are Russian dwarfs :P simple as that really. We had Boris and Pasha picked out for names, 2 months before we even got them lol. Jaska is also a Russian name. Artie was the name he had when we rescued him but to continue the theme we made his "proper" name Artyom (means safe and sound which seemed appropriate). We've only ever called him Artie though. Max was called Nibbles when we got him but we decided to call him Maxim, but again we've only ever called him Max or Maxi. So there you go! I'm running out of names I actually like (and can pronounce!) though so I don't know what we'll do in the future

Re: Boris & Pasha
I do love all their names but i never realised that about Artie's "proper" name, I think that's lovely

Re: Boris & Pasha
Thanks for explaining how your babies
got their names, especially Artie's name meaning safe and sound. Perfect.

Re: Boris & Pasha
BP, I just finished reading Boris and Pasha's VERY entertaining thread. I have been dying to do it for quite some time now, so I am thilled that I had the chance to do it now. I absolutely love them so, SO. . . much! They are extremely entertaining, handsome, and full of so much silly antics and character. I love how they are so uniquely different in absolutely every single way. They are such a lovely contrast, yet they compliment each other so perfectly. I love all of their gorgeous photos and totally hysterical videos, and I die laughing at all of your humorous captions, too. You all have so much fun together, and it is the greatest thing to hear. I especially love the videos of each of them battling against the toilet paper roll, and I laughed until my eyes watered at the one where they were still living together and running on their hamster saucer. What fun they were having as they took turns rotating who was in front; they looked almost like they were doing leapfrog, LOL!!!! I also totally adore their sleeping photos. Pasha looked so sweet all snuggly in so many locations while Boris looked totally funny as he slept on his back and mumbled something cutely. Sorry to be late, but happy 1st birthday and gotcha day. I am so pleased that you had such a lovely time together and they had plenty of delicious treats and a fun party, too. I absolutely love the latest two pics of them closeup. Boris seems to have the greatest time eating his kale, and Pasha looks so innocent in one of the most adorable houses ever. I love that lion house.
Thanks for sharing how these two totally handsome and fun hammies came into your life and how your entire hamily got their names. It was truly special to know all of this. I also enjoyed seeing the pic where your Avatar came from and that you created your very own signature. They are both lovely, btw. You truly are very blessed to have such an amazing hamily as they are equally blessed to have you and hamdad. I look forward to following all of their threads and enjoying every second of it.
BTW, I also love all of the outtakes for the HOM photo shoots. They are so, so FUNNY!

Re: Boris & Pasha
I always had a feeling that you picked Russian names for that reason! I think it's a really nice idea

Re: Boris & Pasha
Not at all! It’s just that is what I would have done. So, if you are predictable then I am too

Re: Boris & Pasha
Like the saying goes "great minds think alike" I'll leave the rest of the saying off though as it doesn't apply to us

Re: Boris & Pasha
It's been a while since I updated my boys threads. I've been struggling to put anything together or think of any captions as the last update I did was for Max and then he went to the bridge the next day The photobucket thing put me off too as it's sad to look back on my boys threads now and not see their pictures there anymore. But anyway enough of my misery. I've actually had these pictures of Pasha to post for over a month! Even though I am still lacking in any inspiration for captions I decided I would post them anyway
Pasha and his grooming
Pasha will groom anywhere and everywhere as he insists on looking his best at all times. He is such a floofy hamster but he is always immaculate with not a hair out of place. I remember a day when Boris and Pasha were still living together, the look of horror on Pasha’s face when he saw a poop stuck on Boris’s tummy was priceless as he tried to get it off him lol. Some days it looks to me as though he is doing some sort of hamster yoga!
*Gasp* there is a hair out of place, noooooo

This is the focussed googly eye side tummy scratch (important to get any loose seed shells away off my fur)

Keeping my paws and tail in good condition

Good positioning is a must to get to those hard to reach places

Finally the cool down meditating pose
