Tin has been back to the vet again yesterday, he has something wrong with his ear this time, it looks quite pink & sore & he's been grooming it a lot but not scratching at all so probably an ear infection of some kind.
He has ear drops now, once a day for 7 days so fingers crossed that will do the trick.
He's still doing pretty well for his age really & with this hot weather has even been up & running in his wheel before the others a few times!
He's also lost a bit of weight & is a little bald on his abdomen but he's still a healthy enough 60g so nothing to worry about yet, just not quite such a dumpling as he was

I don't know if it was the heat but he was going nuts in his carrier yesterday (hard to believe it was snowing & below zero last time we went right now!) normally he just burrows down & goes to sleep but he was constantly racing around, scratching at the sides trying to climb out & even biting the carrier! So unlike him to be stressed out like that which was a bit worrying, he was good as gold with the vet & totally calm as usual though.
He did seem stressed when we got home & wouldn't even come out for cauliflower cheese but I'm happy to say he was back to his normal self this morning & out for treats & cuddles... & more treats!
Hopefully he won't be too put out when I put the drop in his ear tonight...

Glad he has settled again and fingers crossed the drops go ok. It may have been the heat when you went out - it would have aggravated his sore ear maybe. And it was very hot out yesterday (here anyway)

Oh no poor Tinwë I'm sorry to hear that he's having trouble with his ear and he was worrying you with his behaviour in the carrier. As Serendipity said, hopefully it was just the heat making his uncomfortable ear more uncomfortable.

It's good he's settled down again now though and I hope the ear drops will do the trick and have him back to his old self in no time xx

Thanks Serendipity & BP, I think it probably was just the heat stressing him out, maybe it was really noisy in the car for him too with the windows open, I put him in his carrier a bit early as I wasn't sure what time we were being picked up & he was quite happy chewing on his broccoli until we went out!
It has cooled down quite a lot today & is even trying to rain (a bit ineffectually but at least it's something!) so I think we'll all be feeling a bit better.

Oh poor Tinwe and his poorly ear. Hope he settles down quickly again and the drops do the trick. The heat would stress out anyone or hammie. It has only cooled down here in the last couple of hours.

Thanks Coco.
Ears drops are a bit trickier than I expected, the vet did it yesterday so this evening was my first attempt & crafty little Tin flattened his ears just as I was about to do it but I managed anyway & he didn't seem too put out & was quite happy to get a couple of mealworms after!

I’m sorry to hear that Tinwë is unwell! Hope the ear drops will do the trick! The heat is the worst, it’s very hot hear. Hope he’ll settle down quick. What a crafty little guy folding his ear!

I did smile at Tinwe flattening his ears to try and avoid the drops, even though he knows deep down it's to help him. Sending your brave boy big get well soon hugs. I'm glad it's a bit cooler at your bit now Cypher, this heat does strange things to us.
Aww at Tinwe getting a couple of meal worms for being Mr Brave.

Thanks Lizzy.
The heat has been very stressful but it's all change here now, torrential rain & a very windy 13C quite a relief!

Tinwë's ear still looks about the same but he seems better in himself, not sure if it's the drop in temperature or the steroids that are in the drops along with the antibiotic & antifungal stuff, probably a combination of both.
He's still been up & running in his wheel when I got up yesterday & today, & came racing over to climb out of the door when he saw me! I haven't seen him that energetic for what seems like ages now, he\s eating a bit better too, fingers crossed the ear will catch up with the rest of him & start to look better soon!
