Re: Tinwë the brave!
Little Tinwë was a bit skittish again yesterday evening, he is still easily startled which is understandable as it's still only been a week today that he came home so we got off to a bit of a slow start & didn't progress as much as I hoped but he did come round a bit & I managed a quick look in his house without him being to bothered at all which was good, if he's a bit calmer this evening I'll have a bit of a more thorough spot clean tonight, I had got a small play/taming cage ready for him but decided it wasn't the time, maybe today as he was fine again this morning, climbing the bars, sitting in my hand & running up my arms
With the help of a sunflower seed I got him on the scales & was surprised he weighed in at 30.9g, he looks & feels even smaller than that but I think he's grown in the last week, all those sunflower seeds must help!
He was being a bit shy & hiding in the corner near his bolt hole for a while.
He sits there in the evening, has a really good groom then a really big stretch before coming out to explore some more or have a run in his wheel.
I'm a bit scared mum...
Oh OK, maybe I'll be brave...
I think you can probably tell from these that he considers his wheel to be his dining room

Re: Tinwë the brave!
Tinwë is absolutely adorable in these photos I really like the last one. Tinwë sounds a good weight. It nice to hear how he is doing hopefully he become less shy but it sounds like he gaining confidence. It looks like he enjoys his seeds, and it's cute that he uses his wheel as his dining room.

Re: Tinwë the brave!
Aw just look at his little face. I'm sure in time he will become less and less skittish, and it will definitely be worth the wait
He has such an expressive little face, and he's a good weight too! Am sure the sunflower seeds are filling him up!!

Re: Tinwë the brave!
Thanks Bec
He does still startle easily but once he's out & about he's fine & is happy to run to me of his own accord & sit in my hand so I have no worries at all about his progress I'm sure he'll settle more & stop getting startled soon enough but I'm happy to go at his pace.
He's been making progress with all those baby steps too, yesterday he pouched food for the first time & now if I give him a sunflower seed he'll sit there nicely & shell & eat it but if I give him another he just pouches it & sits there looking all expectant hoping for more
Today he began pouching tissue from a pile I left on top of his house & has been making lots of busy housekeeping noises in there bless him! His house was already pretty full & now it's bursting out of the door at the front & he made a little burrow along the front of the cage, growing up!
I've taken his toothbrush away again today as he is eating too much really, he won't be eating enough of his mix if he keeps scoffing that, I've given him a bit of dog biscuit, ignored so far, & a chunk of one of the steppenlemmings veggie treats which he loves so he doesn't seem too miffed!
I managed to get a quick vid of him having a look to see what I'd been up to & then having a drink before going back to nest making, he's had quite a busy morning!

Re: Tinwë the brave!
That little video is so cute but he did seem a little suspicious of you when he had his nose in the food bowl! Lovely photos too and that last one..... He is coming along so well.

Re: Tinwë the brave!
That video was so cute to watch seeing him exploring his cage- I really like Tinwë colour. What bowl do you use for Tinwë water? It's so lovely reading about him about him and his sunflower seed especially that he hoping for more and about his nest in his house bursting out the door. It sounds like he keeping himself busy.

Re: Tinwë the brave!
Thanks guys
Coco I think he was a bit suspicious of the camera & wondering why I was just standing there pointing it at him rather than interacting, he did have a bit of a "What are you doing?" look on his face
SKB I use the rodipet water bowls, I tried a few bowls before that I thought might be suitable but nothing seemed to appeal, since getting these though all my hams have chosen the bowl over the bottle.
