I'm sorry for being late to this thread Cypher.
Congratulations on your new addition Tinwe, he's so bloomingly blooming gorgeous. My heart melted at him and so many pics too. The pics of him in his wheel made me go Aww! So looking forward to seeing him progress with you.

Thanks everyone

He did well again yesterday, I didn't bother him too much as I want to give him a chance to settle & it has only been a few days still, he was a bit skittish but I offered him a chunk of millet spray & he sat there very sweetly chomping on it while I held it for him
He did get his toothbrush back all night & he's had a good munch again but didn't seem to have eaten quite so much this time so I'll let him keep it for now, I think it's become a bit of a comfort blanket & he goes for a nibble when he feels a bit nervous!
I woke up late for me this morning & he'd gone back to bed but I just topped up his food bowl a bit & he popped out for a little munch, looking very wary so I just stood still talking to him then he went & sat in his usual place by the bars & got his sunflower seed for being brave.
Most evenings when I'm with Zen across the room if I look over he's sat in that spot, ears up taking it all in, total cuteness overload lol! my heart just melts every time

Aww it's so lovely when they eat food from your hands

Glad to hear he is toning it down a bit with the toothbrush-eating (that sounds strange ) - maybe he didn't want it taken away again

Sounds like you're making fantastic progress with him Cypher, can't wait to hear more about him

Thanks freyeashamsters, he does seem to have become a bit more sensible with that toothbrush which is a relief, I felt mean taking it away from him!

He is coming on well, I went slow again yesterday & didn't invade his space much but he was less skittish than the evening before & seemed happier to do his own thing, I saw him have a proper run in his wheel for the first time, he's super fast, then he fell asleep in there bless him!

He really surprised me this morning, as I was walking past the cage he raced to his wheel & jumped in which he does when he's being skittish but then jumped straight out & climbed right to the top of the door looking for another sunflower seed! After I'd opened the door (once he'd got off!) I was trying to open the pot to give him a mealworm & he got so impatient he climbed up & out of the door & up my shirt, I thought I was going to lose him for a minute there lol!
Looks like he's going to be a cheeky one

I was very tempted by a trio of robo sisters in a pet shop a couple of months ago. It was hard to say no but I thought I was doing well with not coming home with any unplanned hamsters - until the following day when I set eyes on Jessie.

I'm glad he's settling in so nicely. He sounds like a character and so adorable.

I'm glad that Tinwë is becoming less skittish and is settling in to his wonderful home. It was so sweet that he ate the millet when you were holding it. He sounds like he has so much character can't wait to hear even more about Tinwë progress - he does sound cheeky by being inpatient about waiting for his mealworms.

When I read this, I squealed and giggled and then a big Aww!
It's always a lovely sight when they cling into the door when you're trying to open it.
He sounds so adorable and this bond is truly wonderful between the both of you. I can't wait to hear what he does next.

Thanks all

I really am surprised at how fast he's coming on, I'll try to get some more photos soon but at the moment my biggest worry is keeping him in the cage lol! He's so fast & determined to hunt out those precious sunflower seeds he completely fearless about the door!
If I happen to pass the cage when he's in his food bowl I have to freeze & pretend I'm not there or he'll ignore his food & come rushing over to me
I have managed to get him a little more interested in sitting in my hands & taking a few other small seeds & he's rapidly learning what "All gone, no more now!" means though he's loath to believe it
He does have an exploratory nibble when he can't find what he's looking for but no accidental nips yet so I think he's figured out what's food & what's not.
I offered him a tiny piece of walnut again yesterday & he finally twigged what a treasure it was, nabbed it & raced off into his house with the prize!
I'm going to have to check out his house for a bit of spot cleaning tonight so I hope that doesn't set us back at all, he has peed in his sand bath a couple of times so there shouldn't be too much in his house, fingers crossed he will have used his sand in there too.

Lovely that he's coming along and settling in so quickly

Aww he sounds so funny and mischevious

When I spot cleaned Willow for the first time, she seemed fine, not sure if it's different with dwarves though

I had a real hoot of laughter over your updates of your brave Tinwe. He has learnt very fast how to get the best treats out of you! Another fan of walnuts, clearly a ham of discerning tastes! Love his seed tales too.
