Re: Tinwë the brave!
If you want more step by step tips on growing them...
Fill your pot with whatever you intend to grow them in, fitch actually worked quite well, I'm trying hemp with a little wood shavings to cover the seeds this time.
Water pot & growing medium really well, soak it!
Sprinkle seeds evenly on the surface & lightly cover, with the fitch I didn't cover them & they were ok.
Only water from below until the seeds have germinated or they'll get washed out to the edges or down into the substrate.
I just stand mine in a saucer with a little water.
Put somewhere light but not hot & then just wait!
Don't let them dry out but once they begin to germinate you can water from above & just keep them damp.

Re: Tinwë the brave!
Dinner's ready!
The second batch of sprouts is ready for the demolition team
I used Hugro hemp to grow it in this time & it's worked really well, a lot better than growing the seeds on paper so they can all tuck into some healthy greens again, even little Tinwë

That looks so good. My seeds have arrived from ebay. Just got to plant them in six little containers now!

Re: Tinwë the brave!
flowerfairy get sowing lol! I'm sure all your hams will love you even more for it
CB I'm always gardening in my kitchen
Shelled warrior also do a grass & clover mix so I think I might get some of that & combine it with the weeds for a bit of a change.

Re: Tinwë the brave!
Going to call you Lady Green Gingers lol! They look impressive!
I'm terrible relating to anything that needs looking after if it's anything to do with relating to gardening. I don't keep plants because they always die on me.
I did notice in the supermarket that they sell things like yours Cypher.

Re: Tinwë the brave!
Growing things is like breathing for me, I can't not do it!
I miss my garden in winter so the hams have to put up with me over compensating a bit

Re: Tinwë the brave!
I haven't weighed Tinwë for a little while but guessed he'd put on a good amount of weight, he's grown so much (about 4.5 months old now) & is no longer a teeny little boy
He now weighs 47.5g which I think is a healthy enough weight for a hybrid ham, he may yet have a bit of growing to do though…
He's grown up as well as grown
Quite a bit more settled now, still very unsociable in the evenings & just wants to run in his wheel but we do have a lovely little session together every morning & he always seems keen to see me when I get up
