Re: Tinwë the brave!
That is such a good idea - those mini terracotta pots are so cute. I hope Tinwë will enjoy his sprout garden.

Re: Tinwë the brave!
How is the Silent Runner working out for you? I had to have replacement bearings for one of the wheels. Your cage lay-out looks professionally done

Re: Tinwë the brave!
Thanks everyone
Serendipity "then what?" lol! Add seeds, water & wait for them to grow
I used the shelled warrior hamster mix from ebay, just stuffed it with fitch, gave it a good soak & sprinkled seeds on top then put it on the windowsill or under my grow light as we haven't had much in the way of daylight lately.
I might try them with hemp next time & see how they grow on that.
They don't last long in the cage, Zen trashed hers in no time lol! (I'll post some photos in her thread later when I've sorted through them) but the boys were a little better behaved with theirs. Zeki's pot is still intact but most of the sprouts are eaten so I think he approved!
I didn't see Tinwë with his, he just wanted to run in his wheel yesterday evening & was totally uninterested when I showed it to him but when I looked this morning he's definitely had a good munch

Re: Tinwë the brave!
He did surprise me I must admit
He does like odd things, he loves his dried flowers, my sleeves & the usual sunflower seeds & mealworms but he's the first Russian I've had that didn't like veg, maybe they're not fresh enough for him & he prefers something still growing!
