Whoa! Sooty looks just like a wonderful HC hammy who has gone on to the Bridge ...Kiki's Smudge! They could be twins. Beautiful pattern color.

Wow! They look so alike.

I have to admit that even though I'm predominantly a Chinese Hamster person and she seems so chunky compared to my Chineseys, I think she's a beautiful girl.

Sometimes she reminds me of the stereotypical model behaviour... She knows she's gorgeous and is a total diva.

Yesterday I tried offering her a piece of cucumber and she actually knocked it out of my fingers as if to say "How dare you offer me this". I found it rather funny though.

She'll have another photoshoot later today so I'm hoping to get a couple of good photos of her before my sister comes to collect her.

I got a video from my sister today of Sooty actually being handled which is something that I wasn't sure if I'd ever see.

When my sister first got Sooty, she'd clearly never been handled or had only been handled badly. She was territorial and hated it if you even dared to put your hands in her cage, she could be quite vicious but you could see that the poor girl was petrified.

My sister has been working with her, gradually gaining her trust and she's now able to stroke her and pick her up (albeit not from her cage yet). The video also showed Sooty climbing over my sister happily which is really lovely to see.

She had started to go a bit more black again when she was with me but seems to have lost some of it again. I saw a hamster like her in the pet shop the other week and had to tell my sister all about it.

Sooty has decided that it's too hot to sleep in bed at the moment and has decided to sleep underneath her seesaw instead.

Typical UK weather, rainy or unbearably hot! Jerry has abandoned all nesting activities and is just sleeping on top of his substrate
