Question I have a bigger cage, should I move them or will that result in fighting?

I have a fare bigger cage that is sitting spare, is it a bad idea to move my hybrid boys or should it be ok if I keep an eye on them? Of course there would be two of everything etc.
Thanks, CC81

What cage are they currently residing in? Switching to a larger cage could result in frictions, so it`s always a good idea to weigh up the con`s of that. If they are happy where they are and their current cage is suitable for a pair, I would leave them where they are. On the other hand, if they are in a mini Duna or a smallish cage, then upgrading them may be better, but I would tip all their old substrate and bedding into the new cage along with keeping their accessories in the same places, including food dishes and water bottles where possible. This will help them to navigate what is normally positioned in their environment without noticing too much has changed, apart from having more floor space!

Thanks, to be honest i think they will do ok. There current cage is 560 square inches of floor space. Maybe there is a better reason for that cage...(new hamster) might go to the p@h adoption center soon...
