Default Introducing Elliot

Hi all
so I posted about searching for a Chinese ham last week but since then plans have been changed and my search has been put on hold.

The Story starts over a month ago with my friend getting her daughter a hamster, she went to a pet store and brought her a cute little hybrid to live in a pretty pink cage. The cage was one of the new tiny Savic cages that's pets at home are now doing.

Seeing the cage and little guy I tried to persuade her to get 'Elle the Elephant' a bigger cage.

So yesterday I get a call saying that her daughter no longer likes the hamster as he bites and is noisy and did I want him.

You can probably guess where this is going. I of course said yes and went and collected him yesterday. I went to pah to get the little one an emergency cage upgrade and found a cage that wasn't to bad. It measures around 58cm by
46cm so I'm also wondering if this will be ok to keep him in in the long run?

I know I could've got a bigger and better priced cage online but I didn't like the idea of 'Elle' being in the tiny cage any longer than he needed to be. I also brought some extra things to fill the cage with and thought about joining the 2 cages together.

I soon found out that 'Elle' is a boy and he does indeed bite but its more of a nibble and test bite to see if you're food. He is super friendly, climbing out of the cage door and into your hand but does click when you hold him. (After a visit to the vets today its nothing that they could find wrong).

He has settled in really well and seems to love all the extra space he now has.

Thanks for sticking with the long post

His old cage (please ignore the mess in the background)

The new setup although the cage at the bottom looks tiny it is a lot bigger than it looks in the photo

The main man Elliot himself

Looking tiny in his food bowl

He's the first hybrid ham that I've own although I do suspect he may have some neurological problems as sometimes he's very wobbly on his legs.

His wheel isn't in the photos in case you're wondering it was being washed to get rid of all the dust. He has a medium silent spinner. Do you think this will be big enough for him.

He is tiny smaller than my Campbells but I already love the little guy. He's such a character

He is gorgeous . Well done for taking him in. That cage is just ridiculous. The thought of all them poor hammies spending their lives in that makes me sick!!!

Joining the cages would is a fab idea. My Syrian has a Barney with a bin attached and my Robo has two Zoozone1s attached. Hes a lucky boy
