Re: Zenki and Kouki :)
LOL Hekomi, I'll be taking a picture of Chuki in my hand, he tends to sit still for longer period of time. He is maybe slightly bigger than a toonie! Your boys seem a lot bigger than he is now. I'm guessing that all of them weren't very well fed where I picked them up from.
I'm still unsure of how big, or heavy should a dwarf hammy be at 5 weeks of age

Re: Zenki and Kouki :)
My boys there were about 2mo old, so older than your guys for sure. He looks adorable though! Our boys, at 6mo weigh about 52-54g. I didn't measure them when they were babies though.
Toonie boys... cute cute cute!

Re: Zenki and Kouki :)
I'll pick up the scale from my parents house today (I left some things behind when I moved out ), and I will most likely weigh them tonight and keep a little notebook. I like doing that so that I can notice any drastic changes in weight and I will weigh them roughly once a week

Re: Zenki and Kouki :)
We keep an excel spreadsheet of all our four and have a graph which updates automatically so we can see trends, etc. It's wildly helpful.

Re: Zenki and Kouki :)
The whole hamily got millet last night! and it was a hit! (next thing on the list, meal worms )
Kouki like to attack it from underneath
And then she works her way up
Zenki was late to the party like always

Re: Zenki and Kouki :)
Lol they remind me of my boys a bit! They also LOVE millet, AND meal worms. Be careful offering treats in cage, I know my boys get a bit grabby over it.

Aww, such cute pictures Kouki looks to be in awe over that millet! Dusty is the same, she just devours the whole thing within a few hours. They'll love mealworms if there anything like the typical dwarf when it comes to treats

Re: Zenki and Kouki :)
Thanks everyone!
I'm finding that owning dwarves is an awesome experience. They are different in so many ways from Syrians that they always keep me guessing!
@basilthehammy : I need to find his thread! He sounds like one cutie pie I do not want to miss
@creamsyrian : I think Kouki spent a good 10 minutes hovering over that millet from every side. I never thought she would go crazy for it
@ hekomi : they seem to have quite the bond the girlies. They always share food and treats, and Zenki is very protective of Kouki. Whenever there is something new in the cage, she holds Kouki back and goes to investigate first. She takes great care of her sister and there's always plenty for them to share (just in case)
