Wanted to share an update on Vincent since his amputation and realised how little I'd put in this thread of his and Izzy's!
He's doing very well, back to his old self, quite docile and the swelling goes down a bit each day. He walks with a limp now of course but seems to be just getting on with it and is actually making me nervous being so active when he's not fully healed. He's drinking well and eating well, getting treats of bits of chicken, cucumber and pear. Very proud of how well he's coping!
Some photos:
I've moved him out of his 110litre box into this 80litre RUB temporarily and kept it really simple. He had a few extra bits that I took out when he kept climbing on them and was wary of him doing more damage.
Apart from checking how his stitches are healing I didn't want to be handling him too much but he's absolutely fine with it and doesn't seem to be in any pain fortunately. I lift him out and he clambers about on my hand like his usual self.
And finally, a picture of the damage. Still a way to go in terms of recovery but he'll get there. You can see it's his rear left leg. Breaks my heart everytime I look at him and notice his missing leg but when they said they couldn't save the leg it seemed like the best solution to get him out of pain quickly and onto recovering.
