Milo & Murphy
Last night after much consideration, I rescued these two beautiful hamsters from someone who "wanted rid of the things" because she was allergic to them. I was at my limit with hamsters really but I knew I could take them in temporarily to get them in a good size cage and then ensure they go to a good home.
Unfortunately after having them here for the last 24 hours, I have established that Murphy is poorly. I suspect his scent gland is blocked, and also due to his excessive drinking and peeing, I suspect he has either diabetes or a UTI. For that reason, they will be staying with me until I can find out what is wrong with him and get him treated.
You can see from the pictures, that although I am assuming they are hybrids as they were purchased from a pet store, that they appear to carry very strong Campbell genes. I am told they are around 13 weeks old now.
Here they are before the car jouney to my house
Meet Milo - the smaller of the two and definitely a cheeky little chap! He loves to climb on anything he can, including his brother!! And is very friendly with me, walking on to my hand in his cage and coming out for cuddles.
cuddles
Milo loves millet
and mealworms
Friendly little boy
with his gorgeous baby face

Re: Milo & Murphy
I think they're absolutely gorgeous I love Campbell's anyway but they just look so snuggly.

Re: Milo & Murphy
I do hope they're both ok. Its good that you rescued them since it really sounds like Murphy needs the help, he really reminds me of our Bumblehams too

Re: Milo & Murphy
A cute pair of charmers, aren't they? Can't believe someone would want to "get rid of them" like they're trash! I'm allergic to cats, but I still rescue them when they need homes (as Tuppence and her three kittens can attest.)!
Give them kisses and cuddles from Reid and me, kay? Also, keep us updated on the poorly one ^^

Re: Milo & Murphy
I suspect now that the reason she "wanted rid" is because one is clearly poorly! But who knows.
What matters now is trying to help Murphy get better or more comfortable at least and that is something that I will do my very best at for him

Re: Milo & Murphy
They are adorable, and they couldn't be with a better carer right now, especially with Murphy being poorly.
I hope he's ok
