hi im quite new here more a reader than a responder (found out lots of great info) i purchased a hamster 2 weeks ago and bought a crittertrail and it was crap! so have just got a cage same as the bottom link and personally can't recommend it more. Dora loves it and all the room she has and to make burrows/climb/ etc. im glad i changed it. Their is a review page on the gabber rex on the cage review part. that is what made me go for the cage and certainly havent been disappointed although it is on the larger side compared to some cages so if space limited then may not be suitable.

Well the last picture is a gabber rex which is the best cage ever unfortunatly its impossible to get so thats took off the list

The livingworld excercise dome looks good although im not sure if the doors are fiddly and small not ideal for a syrian as there bigger and you cant really get in there

The leon i think looks the best 3 floors and each floor has lots of space

I think you should go with the leon

And you dont know much about hamsters didnt you research ?

What cage is the hammy in now ?

Hello and welcome, lovely to have you join us
You'll learn everything you need to know here!
The gabber rex only pops up occasionally on ebay as its not availible brand new anymore, but keep your eye out
There are similar alternatives to the gabber rex (hagen zoozone 1 or 2 or the duna multy)
If you have a look through the cage review section you should find a bit about lots of different cages

If i'm right the hagen living world exercise dome has a big door on top and personally i like the look of it a lot. Although you may have to plasticote the shelves to make it waterproof, otherwise they'll get mucky

The leon is also very good, but again the levels will need plasticoting!

Please feel free to ask any questions you have and we're happy to help x

Hi Kirsty, nice to have you join are hammy community!!

Fluffymunchkins has pretty much summed everything up, but I will say keep an eye out on our bargin cage thread :Bargain Cage Thread (some of us with nothing better to do (who me?!) are always updating with bargins!)

The gabber does come up second hand from time to time and is a great cage - the closest match that is availble in shops today is the Duna Multy Cages : Ferplast Duna 'Multy' Guinea Pig / Hamster Cage + FREE DELIVERY : www.EquineCanineFeline.com the place to buy all your Pet Products, Horse Products and Pet Supplies online Its has a small gague wire lid so it is suitable for dwarfs aswell. The only downside is that it has no levels butthis can be recitfied wth a guniea pig shelter or a upturned box. I have one of these and I do really like it its easy to clean and gives you lots of freedom to arrange it how you want.

Both of the other cages you have listed the Leon and the Exercise dome again are good cages but will need plastikoting (childsafe paint) to portect the wood form getting stained and smelling. Actually the more I look at the exercise dome the more I want one . . . . hehehe!

Hope this helps, let us know what you decide!

The last pic as the others have said is a gabber rex, but you can get a cage very similar to this called the duna multy which is an ideal size for syrians.

FERPLAST DUNA MULTY GUINEA PIG CAGE great for HAMSTERS on eBay (end time 03-Aug-10 22:46:17 BST)

The cages with the bars have great space if you don't mind the chewing of the bars, I have the duna mini for dwarf hamsters and it is so easy to clean and view your hamster

yeah...i have to say the same. the duna cages are really great. if you prefer a bar cage i can recommend the criceti 15. its huge and the whole top can be open. that can be a pain if you want to hang stuff from the top but if you dont want to do that the cages is really awesome. you have to replace the wheel that comes with the criceti 15 though...its too small for a syrian...and rubbish anyway
