Well then let's assume that it's beneficial for them and they get some extra nutrients this way that they couldn't digest the first time around!

Only one of my hams does this (Honey) and she also urinates in her bed. I have to change her bedding absolutely EVERY day because of this. I don't want her sitting in it because not only does it make her smell bad, it's unhealthy. She sleeps in a little plastic hamster house, so I just use torn up toilet roll as bedding and change it out every day when she's in her ball.

Boris poos at the enterance to his nest too, I always asumed it was a warning type thing - like 'this is my space do not enter' he wees in his sand bath like a good boy though! Even if he does like to roll in it too :-/

i'm completely unphazed by ham poo now. Same with dog poo You just get used to it!

I think the reason they have poos at the entrance to their nest is because they threw them out to keep them from the nest. Lila does this. I will see her flinging poos out of her nest pod, where they rattle down the tube that leads up to her nest!

Yeeeeeeah. I don't think I could handle a dog egg in the same way I would pick up a hammy pellet!
