Oh no! Hope you get back soon! I heard on the radio this morning that they are beginning to open the air space again.

What a naughty ham! Maybe a glass tank will be in order?!

I'm think a glass tank or plastic cage is the way to go. Does anyone know some good places to look for this type of cage?

Ebay for glass tanks there is a large one here:

Gerbil, Hamster, Rat, Small Animal Glass Tank on eBay (end time 24-Apr-10 21:45:28 BST)

ah just looked and you are in glasgow! Ooops!

other sites like preloved are also good to search.

I am often on ebay so I will keep a look out for you.

Thanks Hope. I'm giving some consideration to making a bin cage which I might try this weekend if I get home. That way it should be lighter for when I have to move the cage and if she chews it then it would be another expensive cage ruined.

Okie Dokie, I post cheap but good cages on the 'Bargin Cage' thread, so keep a look out there, if you like.

Bin cages are great, as you can make them however you like, good luck with the project - I will be expecting photos on completion!

i'd suggest a cabinet cage like micks or the one i completed today see 'cabinet cage' or 'my roborovski set up'. Although i don't know how your ham would be with wood, its pretty sturdy to withstand them though!

Cost me about £2 in all

What about an Imac Fantasy? I doubt she'd be able to chew out one of those. Evelyn's brother Rocha (who tried to chew out his Gabber Rex!!) is in one and he likes it. He is a bit of a bar biter though when I'm in the room and he wants cuddles. Her dad Rio is also in one (with an extension) and he loves the space, doesn't bar bite or anything.

Or how about just a large wire cage with no plastic to chew? Something like this: Stitch Hamster Cage - 08975 (BRU) | Hamster Products | Hamster, Gerbil and Mouse Cages

Imac is actually an Italian company, you find a much cheaper Fantasy or "Stitch" cage over there! :P

Thanks everyone for your suggestions. The "Stitch" cage looks really good and I'll also think about building a cabinet cage.
