Broken Zooplus cage - Advice/ideas welcome.
So The lovely Ria sent me a zooplus large cage, so well wrapped and marked as fragile, the top arrived broken thanks to the delivery company.

So been trying to come up with plans for my friend to try and fix it.
Plan A: using a solder iron and spare bits of plastic, melt it together to try and cover the gaps.
Plan B: Try and do the best we can with plan A, if need be mesh it - burn holes through the plastic and using zip ties attach mesh
Plan C: If Plan A and B go totally wrong, remove a chunk of the plastic, if we can get hold of a dremel and then add mesh to a clean neat corner
Anyone ever done this? thoughts/idea/advice welcome.
At this point we can't make it any worse (or maybe we can )

Ah. That might be a issue. Have you located the bits of plastic? Super glue it?
Get in touch with the courier as it's their fault. They'll either replace it or give the money back? I think anyway.
I'll keep thinking of ideas though

I saved as many of the bits i could, but some are like dust!!! So some bits can be stuck back in, but there will be some gaps still
Ria is sorting the refund out (hopefully)

what about trying to use epoxy resin? get the biggest bits in place and resin over to create a smooth layer? the mesh idea i have seen but on bases rather than tops. The soldering iron and outer epoxy layer would be my go t, i got my epoxy poundland, stinks of fish!

The only other thing I can think of that hasn’t been suggested is a 3D pen.

Google 3D printing pen. It’s a pen that melts plastic and you draw with it. As the plastic cools it sets hard. I will try post a link to an example but not sure if it will work.

That's interesting. I had never heard of it but i had never heard of epoxy resin either.
I'm going to have a nose around Hobbycraft tomorrow to check out those things.

Is it a Zoozone? Such a pain. Looking at the photos I’d be tempted to try and repair on the inside. So option A probably.
Vectis has a good page on cage repair

Re: Broken Zooplus cage - Advice/ideas welcome.
Thanks everyone. Serendipity I am quite ill at the moment and yes I meant zoozone not zooplus. I was doing several things at once and not very with it.
Yes, i know about Vectis page, I had already sent that to my friend.
Fairycake, that 3d pen is genius, i think that would work. Passed the info onto my friend.
Amethyst I had thought of resin but then forgot about it, i wasn't sure how easy it would be to shape it and get it to set without it going everwhere, or am I thinking more of those resin pours when they have been added to another runnier liquid???
Anyway, thanks everyone. I am hopeful my friend can fix it.
