They are a pattern not holes.

Re: Quietest wheel
That's good Thank you. Good find! The 10" one looks good. The smaller one says 12cm which is only about 5" - does the small one actually measure that or more like 6" Ria? 5" would be a bit too small even for a robo. But the 10" would do fine for dwarf hamsters and some syrians.

Re: Quietest wheel
The small one my robo and dwarfs use is 17cm and they run fine in them. Here are photos of the small one and Henry's in his Alaska cage.

Re: Quietest wheel
Ah there must be 3 sizes then. On the website Luna linked it said small size was 12cm. 17cm sounds much better (or maybe I just misread it ).

Re: Quietest wheel
It does say 12cm but i've never seen a 12cm one in the shop. I don't know why they don't sell the 17cm one online instead of the 12cm one which isn't any good to any rodent.
The wheels are from China and they get the description on the box all wrong. Its meant for gerbils, hedgehogs and guinea pigs but no mention of hamsters so the shop always sribbles over the guinea pig.

Re: Quietest wheel
12cm is the width of the wheel not the diameter Serendipity so it has quite a wide running surface.

It has a wider running surface than most wheels but its 7.5cm for the 17cm wheel and 9cm for the 26cm wheel. I've just measured them.

Re: Quietest wheel
Thank you Souffle - that is a good wide running surface. Yes so I misread it Just seen Ria's post above! So maybe there are 3 sizes? Anyway the 17cm and 26cm sound like good options!
