Themed Cage Ideas - 40 gallon breeder tank

I just got a new hamster and I am thinking of ways to theme the cage during the holidays. I was wondering if the sparkle color sand you can get at Michael's is safe? It said non-toxic on the bottle. Would be cool to have color sand for say Halloween or Christmas tank theme. But not if its not safe. Just wondering if anyone has done it before.

I wouldn’t use coloured sand in a hams cage, it’s unlikely to be completely safe & definitely not anything with some kind of sparkles in it.
If you do think about doing a themed cage bear in mind that most hams don’t like to have things changed in their cages, once you have a set up that works well for them it’s best to just keep it that way.

I agree with Cypher, not safe to use. If you want to add coliur how about the coloured paper bedding you can get, or get coloured serviettes and rip them up. I would check with a bit of water that the dye wouldn't run.

Re themes, i see lots of people do seasons, or special occasions like valantines, easter, halloween, xmas. Also things like woodlands, fairies, oceans, space.

Hope that gives you a few ideas.
