Default Planning to have a German Cage Style - Cleaning Issue

Hi, I am new here.
I am planning to have like german cage style where i intend to have it filled with organic soil and let the hamster burrow its on home. Question is ho do i clean the cage without destroying his own burrowed home? I heard that i need to take out some of the soil and mix like 1/3 of new soil monthly but that will destroy the burrow hole if i need to mix around the soil?

My intention is to have the hamster burrow its own home etc... is this making sense?

Soil of any kind including organic soil is not safe so that idea will need to be changed completely.

A properly sized cage with deep enough substrate would never need to be fully cleaned with the obvious exceptions of things like mold, mites, medical conditions requiring fully disinfected cages as a part of the treatment, etc - things which are the extreme and not exactly relevant to the average healthy hamster. Spot cleaning and the occasional small partial clean(tiny sections of the cage's substrate being removed at a time and replaced essentially) you end up having a clean cage with a very happy and far less stressed hamster!

I agree, soil can be very dangerous so I would steer clear of it. If you have an adequately sized cage with lots of bedding you certainly will not need to clean the burrows/nest often.
