Default Cleaning without disrupting

Hello, I have a DIY cage similar to the IKEA Kallax and it has a decent sized burrow area on the left half. It's about 18" deep and 15" wide. My hamster obviously spends a lot of time down there and it's also where she uses the bathroom. I want to provide a clean environment for her but cleaning up her poop and pee would require me to disrupt her entire burrow structure she has spent so much time preparing. I read that this extremely stresses out the hamster. Should I just wait and do it once a month so that I don't disrupt her so often or what?

That's a difficult one really, you don't need to worry about cleaning poo too often but if there is a build up of damp pee & ammonia it won't be healthy to leave it, can you try to encourage your ham to pee somewhere a bit more accessible? Does she have a house? Often if you have a large enough house you can put a litter tray of some sort in there & they may use that or if the house has a lid you can just lift up you can access any peed on nest easier.
I would keep an eye on her burrows for now, check now & then to see what it's like. It is better to leave the nest etc alone as much as possible but you also do have to be sure there isn't pee building up so a bit of a balancing act really!

Thank you for the reply. I do have a wooden structure in the cage that house two house like features. She uses one as the entrance to her burrow but unfortunately there is no way to look inside them or check. It's been about a month now since I put her in the cage so I'll clean it soon. Maybe she'll get tired of me messing up her area and choose a new spot.
