Question Can 3 Hybrids Live Together?

So I have a friend that has owned a Syrian before that wanted to try housing 2 Dwarf Hamsters together. I don't really know what played out while they were out looking, but they ended up getting 3 Hybrids. All 3 were 2 weeks old when bought and are all brothers.
Anyway, once he told me about this, I said, "You're probably going to need to move one of them out," but I don't really know how they're going to behave because I've only kept Syrians before. Right now, all 3 are being housed in a 40 gallon aquarium. Any advice would be appreciated.

Three really isn't a good number, most pairs will fall out once they mature & want their own territory but with 3 there's an even greater chance of there being one dominant one, one submissive one & one somewhere in between which will always side with the dominant one so the submissive one will most likely be bullied at the very least by both the others, it can be very stressful for the hams even before fighting begins & there is the problem of ensuring the more submissive one has access to enough food & is allowed to hoard & eat by the others.

I'd love to know what advice your friend was given when buying 3 at the same time, like cypher has said this isn't suitable for 3 to be living together, many people will buy them in pairs and they start of well living together but, in time they will fight and it's recognising the signs and separating them before they harm each other. I've heard a few times about how people just assume they're playing when in actual fact one is being bullied. Always be prepared when you buy any dwarfs together that a second cage should be bought also.
