Oscar's new DIY wooden cage
I usually travel between 2 cities which are 2 hours apart from each other due to my studies. My father and I decided to make a wooden house for Oscar so that I won't have to bring his bin cage every time I come.
So here it is, what do you all think?

That looks great!! I'm also thinking about building a cage (read: ask my father to do it because he's a genius when it comes to building things) because I currently have a glass tank which is impossible to move.

Re: Oscar's new DIY wooden cage
Oh yes. When it comes to building and repairing, my father is also a genius. He bought the wood and everything else needed from a friend for 15 eur, and he even made some toys, tunnels and hideouts for Oscar. I am nowhere near as close to his level as him, and I am also missing a lot of tools.

Re: Oscar's new DIY wooden cage
That is precision carpentry. Wished i could make things like that. I'm openly envious here.
Is that mosquito mesh on the lid and front? I'm just wondering if it allows for sufficient ventilation. Personally, i would have used the galvanised mesh like used for bin cages for good airflow and enable Oscar to see out.

I wouldn't say it's a mosquito mesh, it's less thick. I've used the same mesh in a bin cage the last month and he had no problem at all.
Also, thank you for your compliments.

Re: Oscar's new DIY wooden cage
Fantastic cage! I am tempted to make a DIY cage in future (when I have space for big project) but the weight of the final cage puts me off as I like to be able to lift the cage and move it myself.
Is it manageable (to move)?

It is still moveable, as I could get it to the second floor where my grandparents live. Keep in mind that I used a light wood so it heavily depends on the type of wood you choose
