Cool Recommended Glass Cages/Aquariums for a Syrian

Hi,

I'm a newbie to Hamster Central so would like to firstly say Hi.

I am currently looking for a new Cage for my Syrian Hamster however I would like it to be glass instead of the usual plastic cages so I can see my Hamster more often.

I am aware of the IKEA Detolf however this one is just a little bit too large in length by around 30 centimetres.

The space I have available for a glass cage is 130L x 60W x 60H and I was wondering if anybody could recommend a glass cage based on these measurements?

I am currently housing my Hamster in 2 fairly sized plastic cages linked up by connecting tunnels.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thank you.

We have the detolf for our gerbils and it is awesome...but we didn't have the space in the rooms our hammies are in to give them the same. So I got them each a 30 breeder aquarium...roughly 36" W X 18" D X 13" H so a little above the German recommendation for minimum space. To give them more space still, I've now purchased a playpen for supervised play. The aquariums I found on Marketplace used so paid $40 each w/lids.The playpen I ordered yesterday as Chewy.com was having a sale. There are many brands/options available but I wanted the largest and lowest I could find so I could sit in it and see out (this one is 62" and I didnt want netting to extend to bottom to prevent escapes a wee bit. Hammies seem very content in their tanks.... one doesn't use any of the space...lazy little bum. The other uses full enclosure but doesn't dig at sides unless she smells her off-limits boyfriend in the vicinity. LOL Trying to add photos but it won't allow me. Weird. I'll try from computer later if I get a chance....

I have more pics of tank when Yeti was awake and of Buttercup's tank as well but when I access albums, it won't let me scroll that far :/

Thank's for your replies and help!

After careful searching last night I decided to go with this one that was on Amazon and if my calculations are correct would give my hamster 6900cm2 of floor space.

Jordan.

I love those! We don't have them here in these states but my hope is to possibly build something similar after we renovate attic and move stuff around. Your hammie will love it! Post pics once it's set up and your ham is enjoying the new pad!

Not sure if you have Petco up in NJ but I did see a sale there today if you buy on line and pick up in store... since you have room, they may have a large aquarium that you could get for a great price!
