Default Adding a burrowing box?

I have four dwarf hamsters, all of whom love to burrow and make tunnels in their substrate (I use Kaytee Clean and Cozy). My hamsters are in two kinds of cages: Monty and Nanuk each have a setup made of two Ferplast Kora Nera Gabbia cages stacked vertically and joined by external tubes. Those gives a decent amount of floor space and they seem to like them.In these cages I put about 3-4 inches of substrate which is the maximum depth the bases will allow.

Norman and Baldrick each have a Ferplast Favola double-level cage which permits a bit deeper substrate of about 4-5 inches.

I was wondering if a separate burrowing box as pictured would be an addition that they might enjoy?

My second question is that space available in my hamster room/study only permits one of these burrowing boxes, and since something like this cannot be shared I'd need to choose who to give it to. They all like burrowing though. Do you think that would be unfair? It might be a silly question and involve a significant amount of anthropomorphic transfer of emotion on my behalf but I really try to give all my hamsters exactly the same toys, housing etc and it would make me feel quite bad to give a burrowing box to one and not the others.

What would you do?

I can't say I am too familiar with those cages but if they are the ones I think they are then if possible it would be best to upgrade to something that is at least 80x50cm (ignore this if they are). Check out bin cages or secondhand fish tanks - that way you can make the substrate really deep.

I guess you could alternate the burrow box between them?? Is there no way you can rearrange the room so they can all have one? Sorry not much help

Monty and Nanuk have a floor area of 3654cm squared and Norman and Baldrick have 3800cm squared of floor space in their cages so they are close to the 80 x 50 (4000cm squared) area.

Thank you for the advice, I actually think deep fish tanks would be ideal as that would allow them to burrow to their hearts' content.

I don't want to alternate the burrowing box as I'm concerned that they will get stressed smelling another hamster's scent and it would be nice if they can have their own burrows to themselves.

I think it would be better to give it to one rather than not give it at all. Perhaps if there is enough room in the other cages you could use cardboard or wood to make a deep area?

Our Robo Gordon lives in a fish tank which allows for really deep substrate and he happily tunnels away so they are a good option for burrowing hamsters.

Couldn't you keep your dwarves in two separate rooms to create more space for them and give them a box each? Or rearrange your furniture and house? I think they'd love one of those boxes but definitely need one each.
