Default Hooked on bin cages!

People get hooked on sugar or exercise but bin cages?!

It started in the summer when i watched a youtube video and found an unused rub in the house. My OH took over the conversion to a hamster home stating that i would muck it up, or words to that effect, reducing me to handing him the tools. Hmpf!!
Then he went abroad, i nicked the rub he was using for storage, converted it, made a decent job and sold it on Gumtree. Converted two more for a hamster rescue, bought some used Samlas locally and converted two more as a Christmas donation for the hamster rescue.
Then someone here mentioned the Xmas tree boxes so i had to have one and Percy ended up with a playpen box he has turned into a second home.
Got itchy fingers and the urge to create a natural set up in a Xmas tree box so went off to Wickes again.

Here's the result but may add a few more bits and pieces like pebbles etc once i know what i'm going to do with it. On the left is a Ferplast guinea pig house with a bendy bridge over the entrance hidden under the substrate. May raise the substrate on the right yet.

What am i going to do with it? I already have three hamsters.....then again, a discarded Christmas present dwarf may appear on Gumtree or the hamster rescue........but i have to stop making bin cages and get a hobby that doesn't involve hamsters because i have run out of space a hamster ago.

That looks so nice! Lots of interesting and stimulating things for a hamster in there. A top class job you've done!

I need to make a straw parasol or some overhead cover to go over the middle section or a hammock to go across or a gazebo over the sand pit. Any ideas?

awesome, urm Ria aren't you the same person that ummedd and arhed about if you had room for 2 hamsters. let alone 3 ...now is it going to be 4....(just saying )

Not thinking about causing you more work, but if you are going to go on with this 'hobby' have you thought about going on freecycle asking people to donate items, then you could just keep making them for hamster rescues... just an idea. I wish I had your confidence re bin cages, my one attempt for a temporary small one for a vets visit was a bit of a failed attempt and my hedgehog feeding station out of one was a bit of a disaster!!
