I think the really bad, tiny cages are reflective of the "pets as toys" attitude. A lot of them remind me of when I used to keep Sea Monkeys as a child and you could buy little keyrings or watch straps to carry them in. Sea Monkeys are seen more as toys than as living beings with needs and wants, and I think this is also true of hamsters in some countries. They're seen as cute, small toys for children, and so the cages are equally cute and small.

As for that cage being described as a "guinea pig cage", I think when they write the product titles they just string together lots of loosely related keywords, it's not supposed to make sense.

Unfortunately, not many cages that are acceptable are sold in the USA. Lucky for me the breeder my hamsters come from makes bin cages to purchase at a reasonable price.
