Fixing Crack in ZooZone2
I'm getting a secondhand [large] ZooZone 2 for a really great deal because it has crack in one of the sides.
The crack isn't anything too severe, there aren't any missing sections or holes. (Photo included)
I'm planning on fixing it but would like some suggestions on how I should go about it.
Current plan is to use superglue or possibly silicone, though if I'm not mistaken silicone wouldn't work.

Re: Fixing Crack in ZooZone2
Silicone will seal the crack but won't stick the crack together and will probably peel off and gather dirt over time. Superglue will most likely be the best as it will bond the sides of the crack together and seal the tiny gap created by the crack.

Re: Fixing Crack in ZooZone2
Would taping it from the outside suffice? Some decorative tape like duck tape cut into a shape. It's hard to tell how bad the crack is from the photo but if it doesn't affect the structure and escape safety of the cage and there are no sharp edges inside where the hamster could chew on then glue may not even be needed. Just a thought.

From what I can tell it shouldn't affect really anything tbh. I will keep that in mind!

Re: Fixing Crack in ZooZone2
I did some tests on scrap plastic/acrylic and found the following
1. silicone doesnt stick well
2. latex caulking sticks better but is ugly and i would worry about chewing
3. superglue works well except it turned the surrounding area white
4. clear uv resin works as well as super glue but is too thick to just run down into the cracks or be injected with syringe.
Out of all the options I had I went with my uv resin. I like that it remains clear but still sturdy. You can still see the crack but it no longer comes apart. My uv light wasnt the best shape or size to completely cure it so I will be leaving it in the sun tomorrow.
Once its dry I will start to mesh the lid and buying some of the essentials. I'm really excited to have found a ZZ2, especially in the white colourway! Hopefully my future hamster will like it too.
