Is pool filter sand safe?

I was wondering if I could use pool filter sand for a sand bath? I use it for my fish and have never had any problems with it but I don't know.
it feels like children's play sand but im asking here just to be sure

I would say no. It may feel similar, but there's a good enough chance that the grain size and such would be different which can present problems. Stick to children's play sand!
