For my baby hamster I just put a very shallow saucer (I think it is supposed to be a soy sauce bowl?) In the cage as well as two bottles. I haven't actually seen him drinking yet but he has the option as it was the only water source available at the pet shop he came from so I am not sure he knows what to do with a bottle.
