Hi Robin,

I've been looking for a seed mix to put with the burgess but not been able to find much in the UK, i live fairly remote so i only have a petsathome driving distance away or online sources, ive never been able to find a premade food mix with protein higher than 17% tbh thats why i top it up with seeds mixed in with no problems so far but you're right it's definitely not exact though ive done my best working out the protein content from the information provided on the individual seed packets and weighing an individual seed (sounds ridiculous i know but then i know how many to give him), more variety of seeds would be great for them though.

Any idea if i'd be able to find that mix you recommended in the UK?

I have a scale already so i'd be able to work out the maths np if only i could find a mix!

Most seeds mixes will not have the recommended protein amount, hence why I recommended freeze-dried chicken Other freeze-dried insects could work too, like crickets and maybe mealworms depending on what foods you use.

The chicken and bunny mix can be found off ZooPlus, which ships to the UK. Let me know if that’s not an option

Just wanted to update everyone on their new housing situation.

And briefly show you Sunshine (as i managed to snap a couple of photos of her earlier through the lid of her temp cage).

Just to mention also that there isn't anyone in the cages yet (hence no water, food etc.) and I haven't finished setting them up yet, need to add their wheels and some hides and toys, decided not to add the platforms into the Alaskas for now just incase they bar climbed and fell into it instead of the bedding but i might add them in in the future if they seem fine.

I also wanted to how the cages they came with on top of their new cages for comparison, both hamsters were given to me in the small square cage with some scary and dangerous looking platforms in that i immediately removed. I also put their wheel in on top to show you as well (I won't be using it dw, it'll just be going straight in the bin after this).

Omg that's so much better than what they were in. I'd keep the smaller cages for traveling if they need to go to the vets. Like a Carrier

Yeah don't worry I've kept them

I'll be making an appointment today for sometime in the next week just to get them both checked over by a vet so they will be very handy for travelling.
