They're not. However,Kaytee Clean and Cozy is a wonderful US bedding and will work just fine on its own as long as you get the unscented kind with no wood in it!

You could, but it is entirely possible to have an allergic reaction to aspen as with any wood substrate along with almost all substrate. If you do take that risk, just keep in mind that it won't save you any money if you have to replace all the substrate due to an allergic reaction which will make your actual cost double or more due to having to replace so much substrate.

That applies to the majority of substrate though,as even hemp for example could cause an allergic reaction.

There's no reason why you can't use the two substrates together and people often do so when they're changing substrates but in the long term, I'm not sure how much of a saving there would be in using both together.

Should I just switch to kaytee clean and cozy ?
If so do I need to do anything before the switch ( is it just I put the clean and cozy in and done ? )

I would recommend the 20kg one! The 20kg works out to be cheaper for the amount of bedding you get and even though it may seem pricey, it will last 2x longer than the 10kg. As an idea, a 10kg bag gave my 1600sq inch cage around 3-4inches of bedding if I put it evenly all over and I wish I bought the 20kg! (I had to buy the 20kg of Fitch after this but I would have saved so much money if I just bought the 20kg at first)
