Question Does this bin cage need a lid?

Hello I found this website while researching syrian hamsters and it has answered a lot of my questions. I've also found that a bin cage would be the best option for me. I don't have a hamster yet but am seriously thinking about it and am trying to educate myself properly before owning one. I found a large bin that measures just short of 855 square inches. This particular bin is 17.8 inches tall. Is this bin tall enough to safely house a syrian hamster without the lid on it?

A lid is always best as hamsters are crafty little monsters lol. My Syrian will move toys/hides so she can get to the top.

I would definitely say yes. I used to have a 2ft high tank and my hamster could find escape routes.

Highly recommend always having a lid- hamsters are always trying to find a way to escape and I am sure you would rather have a safe hamster than having to try and find an escaped one.
