Long bin cages?
Hi, does anyone have any recommendations for pretty long bin cages? Like 140cm ones? I currently have 2 bin cages connected together with a tube (they’re side by side) each one is 75 or 70cm long I think. But I’m getting tired of it and I would much prefer just one large bin, I’ve seen pictures of other peoples but I can’t seem to find any. I would prefer to have a bin cage because you can make them look however you want, rather than a normal hamster cage. Any recommendations would be really appreciated!

Re: Long bin cages?
Hello. Are you in the Uk or the US? The most popular and good sized long bin cage for the US is the Iris Christmas tree bin - sold at Walmart. It's showing as out of stock but no doubt will be in stock soon as Christmas build up begins in September!

I've seen it with baking grids for a lid instead of cutting and meshing the lid
On one of these photos (on the right, second row down) plus a few other lid examples

If you're thinking that long though, you might want to think about a detolf? Ikea glass cabinet tipped on its side about 163cm long. You need to make a lid out of strips of wood and mesh- most people make two smaller lids rather than one long one.

If you have any kallax units, it sits well on top of them and provides storage underneath

Unfortunately I live in the UK, and yeah I was thinking of getting the detolf but I’d have to convince my parents first, they’re not the biggest hamster lovers
