Default Good cage for a Syrian hamster

I have a (female Syrian) hamster Whiskey, and am looking to upgrade her current cage ( - it's not even that large!) to a bigger one.
A bin cage or DIY isn't the best option for me, but most of the commercial cages I see are far too small
The best ones I could find are the Barney or Alexander cages (from Zooplus) and Living World Green Eco Habitat (also Zooplus).
Because I've never owned Syrian hamsters before (only dwarfs) I was wondering whether someone could recommend a cage or help me choose between these ones?
Thank you!

I think the Barney or Alexander would be great cages. I have the Barney for our Syrian. I have a soft spot for the Alexander and always wanted one but it was out of stock for a while so I got the Barney. They are both good - slightly different. There is also the Savic Hamster Plaza - it's about the same dimensions as the Alexander. It has a big front opening door, which is good for interaction with a hamster and means you can attach things to the roof. It is quite tall but fine if you have plenty of depth of substrate and there is nothing hard or sharp to fall in if they climb to the top (you could put any hard or sharp items under or on the shelf).

Personally I prefer cages to tank style ones - better ventilation, front access and you can make it interesting with attaching things to bars etc.

Brilliant, that you are upgrading. I agree with everything Serendipity suggests, if you go for the savic plaza make sure you look on the internet for some discount codes, I think you can get at least 10% off if you join the VIP clup at pets@home. (if you don't already belong) Also, sometimes they do have a sale i.e. 25% off on black friday - but I imagine you don't want to wait that long.

My hamster started off in the pets@home xl cage and then upgraded to the Alaska from Zooplus. It is smaller than the aforementioned cages but has lovely big doors. One at the front and one at the top. My hamster likes it but he's a male and quite a sedate hamster.
You are probably better off with a larger cage for a female.

Syrians and dwarf hamsters need the same amount of space. I suggest no smaller than 500 square inches of floor space. My syrian has a cage of 700 square inches
