Anyone heard of Joris No Smell Cotton n Cotton bedding?
Hi all,
I'm getting a hamster this Saturday and I'm trying to look for everything that I need for my hamster cage. Right nkw I'm looking for bedding but really don't know which one to get. I live in The Netherlands and the top beddings that I could get here are Carefresh, Joris No Smell Cotton n Cotton(previously known as Cotton Comfort or No Smell Cotton Comfort), Back2Nature and TumbleFresh.
Now I heard alot about Carefresh and TumbleFresh but both of these are kind of expensive. Then I came to find out about Joris No Smell Cotton n Cotton which cost half the price for double the amount(liter/kg p.bag). But I couldn't find any review on this product. So I was wondering if anyone here had any experience with it and can tell me anything about it?
Or if there's another cheap but good brand that ai could buy in The Netherlands?
Thanks beforehand!

I wouldn't use anything that is described as cotton. Not safe. Have a look on Zooplus. They sell Hugro hemp bedding in bales. Works out much cheaper than bags of Carefresh.

as serenditpity said, anything branded as "cotton" is a no-go for hamsters. if they swallow it it can get wrapped around their digestive track or oesophagus or something (because cotton has long fibers) which can cause serious harm or death to your hamster.
i used carefresh for a while, but as you said it is more expensive so i recently switched to kaytee clean&cozy and like it much better. i'm not sure if you have that in the Netherlands though. Aspen bedding is also good, just make sure it isn't pine/fir.

Thank you for your reply. i read serendipity's reply and was wondering why cotton is a no-go. But you've explained why, thank you! Unfortunately we don't have Kaytee Clean & Cozy here. I can order via ebay but it'll be very expensive, €13 + €22 shipping cost
