Love the toadstool

When I hear colour, fairy tales, burrows and hobbits I think of ferns, bendy bridges, pine cones, coconuts as hideouts with moss on them, cat grass, toadstools in colours and copying the road that winds along the hobbits homes in the movie. You could create that using bridges to create height with the nesting box on top and sand at the bottom etc. Got the picture in my head..cant wait to see how it all turns out.

I have been wanting to do a challenge where I re create everything I bought online with recycled things to see how one can create natural habitats without spending alot of money.

Ooh that toadstool looks so cute. Yep, my hamster loves her oil burner the most of all her hideouts. She used to look so adorable in it but now I can't see her as she has recently decided to pile all her substrate to form a door at the entrance. The first time I saw the door, I was amused and mildly worried that she'd suffocated (The burner actually has some holes near the top for her to breathe, so it's ok), so I called her and out came an inquisitive nose! Now she reconstructs the door everytime she is in and is really enjoying her little private space. These little creatures are so so smart.

I'm afraid my bin cage is boring with just random unthemed stuff all over. A mini fairyland in your hearth sounds absolutely magical, and I totally can't wait to see yours. It'll be so lovely when it is completed!

And Schwartzie is another one with an amazing imagination, clearly shown from her set-up for Ragna.

I've bought popsicle sticks a looong time ago but I'm just so lazy and haven't gotten around to making a single popsicle toy or accessory, lol. My poor little hamster has had to deal with random mismatched store bought ceramics, wood houses and toys etc. Quick fixes for lazy hamster owners.

But I digress. I just read that hamsters generally love pear branches, so that sounds like a great option for you, Ria. And although the internet says baking or freezing is fine, I personally prefer baking if I had to choose.
